Information you provide

When you submit our “Start a Conversation” inquiry form, we collect your first name, last name, company, website, email address, phone number, and the details you share about your project. Careers inquiries are handled by email, and we receive the information you choose to share about your background and the role you are seeking. When you subscribe to marketing communications, we collect your email address and any other information you choose to provide. If you email or call us directly, we receive whatever information you choose to share.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard technical request information, such as IP address, browser and device information, referring information, and timestamps, to deliver, secure, and maintain the Site. Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser and network signals to verify form requests and prevent automated abuse. See the Turnstile Privacy Addendum. This security verification is separate from optional analytics and marketing attribution.

Optional analytics and attribution

Only if you allow aggregate analytics in Privacy Choices, Vercel Web Analytics measures page views and aggregate usage, such as device type and approximate location. It uses request-derived visitor identification with a session lifetime of up to 24 hours, rather than a persistent analytics cookie. Our integration removes query strings and fragments from reported page URLs and does not send form contents, email addresses, or customer identifiers to Analytics. Only if you separately allow marketing attribution, we remember the public page where you allowed it, the referring site, limited campaign parameters, and the time of that visit for up to 30 days in your browser. We do not collect a history of every page you visit. If you submit an inquiry or event request, the available attribution accompanies that request so we can understand how you found SDG. We do not collect this history before your permission or reconstruct it after you opt in.

Newsletter and event requests

Our signup forms send information to SDG’s server, which forwards the necessary details to Klaviyo to process the subscription or event request. Your browser does not load Klaviyo tracking scripts or send signup requests directly to Klaviyo. Newsletter signup is an affirmative request to receive SDG marketing emails and does not require a separate confirmation email. Requesting an event seat does not subscribe you to ongoing marketing unless you select the separate, optional marketing checkbox. You can unsubscribe at any time.

• To respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about a potential or active engagement;
• To review and respond to job applications;
• To send marketing communications you request and manage subscription and unsubscribe preferences;
• To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site;
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We use the information covered by this policy to operate the Site, respond to requests, and provide communications you choose. We share information as follows:

• Service providers. We use trusted vendors that process information on our behalf, including Vercel for hosting and optional aggregate analytics, Cloudflare for security verification, and Klaviyo for requested subscriptions and event records. Business inquiries are routed to SDG’s internal inquiry system, Roger, for our team to respond.
• Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SDG, our clients, or others.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Optional analytics and attribution are off until you allow them. You may accept, reject, or choose either purpose separately. Use Privacy Choices in the footer at any time to change or withdraw permission. Declining does not prevent access to the Site, contact inquiries, newsletter signup, or event requests.

• Privacy preference: we store your selected categories and the time of your choice in sdg_privacy_v1 for up to 180 days. This is necessary to remember and honor your choice. When it expires, we ask again.
• Consented attribution: sdg_first_touch is used for up to 30 days; an expired record is cleared when you next use the Site. It is removed when you withdraw attribution permission. Information already attached to a submitted request is handled under our request-retention practices and is not deleted automatically by clearing browser storage.
• Security: our providers may use strictly necessary security technologies to protect requests. The Site does not load advertising or retargeting pixels.

We honor a browser’s Global Privacy Control signal by disabling optional Site analytics and attribution, including when a prior choice allowed them. These controls do not change your separate email subscription. Your browser can also clear storage; if preference storage is unavailable, optional features stay off on subsequent visits until you make a new choice.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional Site analytics, marketing attribution, and marketing emails; steps you request before a potential contract or our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries; our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site and preventing abuse; and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

SDG is based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, the relevant safeguards must cover those transfers. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your data. This policy does not represent that every country provides identical protections.

We keep personal information only as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain our business records, or as required by law, after which we delete or anonymize it. We retain subscription records while you remain subscribed and may retain limited suppression records after you opt out so we can honor your preference.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), California residents may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion or correction of that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The Site does not use advertising pixels or cross-context behavioral advertising integrations. Where applicable law gives you a right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, you can contact us; we also honor Global Privacy Control as described above. To exercise a right, contact us using the details below; we will verify your request before responding.

Other jurisdictions

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection. Contact us and we will respond consistent with applicable law. Where applicable, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office for UK matters.

Marketing choices

You can stop receiving marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us.

The Site is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, and the “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
