MATE The Label: a considered Shopify experience

A considered storefront for a brand built on considered essentials. SDG built and launched MATE The Label’s new Shopify site, connecting the brand’s distinctive visual world with fabric-led discovery and everyday apparel shopping.

A brand people choose with intention

MATE’s point of view starts with the pieces people reach for every day: activewear, tees, sweats, and layers, with natural materials at the center of the brand story. Its digital storefront needs to communicate that point of view while making the assortment easy to shop.

SDG built and launched the new matethelabel.com on Shopify. The experience brings campaign photography, collection merchandising, and product information together, giving the brand room to tell its story without separating that story from the purchase journey.

More than one way to find the right piece

Not every shopper starts with a product name. Some arrive looking for a fabric they already love; others have a color, outfit, or occasion in mind. MATE’s navigation reflects those different starting points.

  • Category-led browsing across clothing, activewear, and intimates.
  • Fabric and color entry points alongside new arrivals and best sellers.
  • Matching sets and seasonal collections that put individual pieces in context.

The material story belongs in the experience

For MATE, fabric is part of the buying decision. The storefront’s fabric library pairs material descriptions, composition, and care information with relevant products. Customers can learn about a fabric and continue directly into the assortment.

That connection gives brand education a practical role: helping someone understand the differences between materials and choose the pieces that fit their wardrobe.

From editorial inspiration to product detail

Campaign-led imagery establishes the mood; product detail supports the decision. The live experience combines collection edits with color selection, sizing information, garment photography, and fabric details.

The result is a storefront with two complementary jobs: introduce MATE’s world to a new customer and give a returning shopper direct routes back to familiar essentials.

A new chapter for MATE

MATE’s new Shopify site is live. The launch adds another distinctive apparel brand to SDG’s work: a commerce experience where the identity of the business is visible in how customers discover and explore the product.
